Cafe Henrie | New York

Linda Tol is probably my favourite Dutchie I follow on Instagram. Even though she works in fashion, she always stays herself and is super sweet. And she goes to the coolest places. When she was in New York last year I saw that she went to Café Henrie for brunch (and said it was one of her favourites), and it looked so great I immediately wrote it down. Now, months later, I could finally go and try it myself!

Henrie has somewhat of a random location, which also means you don't need to fight the crowds like at some other places.

The thing I remember best from Linda's post were the pink accents, which give the place a girly feeling without being over the top.

The menu is pretty simple, with some classic breakfast options and some very tasty looking lunch bowls.

I met two friends here, one of which chose the Açaí bowl with chia...

Naturally I chose the avocado toast. I ♡ avocado. I love the watermelon radish they add on top, it gives the whole thing something extra and I like it when my food is 1) tasty but also 2) beautiful.

So far, I've had avocado toast a few times here in New York but this was by far the best one I've had! A big mountain of avocado, creamy tahini and a spicy touch from the rocket leaves.

Overall, Café Henrie is a really lovely little spot to meet some friends for breakfast or lunch. It's much more quiet and relaxed compared to most places, and I'm guessing it can't be too hard to get a table here, even on the weekends. Thanks for the tip Linda, I like it as much as you do!
