I wasn't sure whether I should share a picture diary of January. After all, 80% of my monthly posts are food pictures. But since I extensively talked about everything I ate in this post (and here... oh here too), I thought it would be a little bit overkill to repeat those same pictures. But I did my best and tried to find pictures of January which weren't food-related, so here's the result! The past month was all about vegan eating, work, working out and a little bit of sale shopping, just what January should be all about, right!?
I took it pretty easy on January first as you can see.. Woke up at my best friends' house with her fat cat on the bed. Best start to the year! (minus the minor hangover) // But first.. coffee, with nut milk. My vegan challenge started that day!
Okay I know I said I wouldn't include any food pics but I guess a few may have slipped in somehow ;) here was the first vegan feast I prepared to kick off the month the right way and to motivate my family, since they were joining too! // I use my juicer about once a week and then I usually make three different kinds of juices that we can enjoy for one or two days. I love green juice with kale, cucumber, apple, lime and mint. Carrot with ginger is always delicious as well. I can't pick my favourite!
Boxing is still going well. I've been doing it two/three times a week for 6 months now and I'm definitely noticing some big progress! // I'm the biggest outfit-repeater when it comes to gymwear. I have loads of nice tops and leggings but I usually end up wearing Lululemon tights (because: mega flattering), a white or black top and my Nike Tech cropped sweater which I got in two colours because I love it so much.
Antwerp is so beautiful when it's sunny (like any city really) // Coconut addict: Coyo & fresh coconut from Albert Heijn.
I've had this baby Céline over a year ago now and it's one of my most-used bags. The size is perfect for every day wear and it goes with everything! // What this month's groceries looked like most of the time: lots of fruit, vegetables and almond milk.
A fun fact about me: I cringe when I see a grammar mistake in English. Which is ironic because I know I write a lot of mistakes on my blog (which I mainly blame on the lack of proofreading and the fact that English isn't my first language). BUT when I spot a big grammar mistake in English, especially coming from a non-English speaking person (or in this case, a Dutch article with an English word in it) I think it's terrible. Especially in this article, where they even emphasized the word, and then they wrote it wrong?! (it's meant to be zero-waste, not zero-waist. THE SHAME haha) // Vegan spelt crêpes on Saturday morning, there's nothing better!
Went out for a 10 km run and the weather conditions were just perfect! Quite cold & a blue sky :) // Love this little detail inside the seam of my Nike running top (100% copied Annemerel with this, I loved it on her)
There's only a few things in life that make me happier than a big bunch of flowers // More crêpes & a gorgeous spread at my sister's place
I love a bit of entertainment on my commute to work so I always try to find a Metro on the train. But when I take an early train there's usually no Metro lying around yet, which makes me sad, so this pic made me laugh a little // my Snapchats are mostly about my cats & me drinking coffee.. super interesting ;)
How cute is this skirt from MSGM? This is the side of it, as you can see it's black with a huge white heart on the side. Love it! // January had mixed weather, and there were some very sunny days in there, yesss!
More juicing! Usually a weekend ritual. Carrots, apples and kale are pretty standard for my juices // there's not many flowers in this season but the ones that DO bloom are just beautiful. I love the fire-y shades of Hamamelis! Such a nice contrast when it snows (which it hasn't unfortunately)
These two pics were taken like two weeks apart, can you tell I'm a cat-lady? (how fun is this Snapchat filter though!)
Spotted this cat-pic on Instagram and it made me laugh so much, how is this even possible? Is this real?? // Decided to get back on the running-game this month
January was also all about this French braids or boxer braids as I like to call them. I've never been good at braiding and every time I get the chance to get my hair done for an event, I ALWAYS ask for some kind of braid. So I decided it was high time for me to learn how to braid my own hair, especially since my hair is always in my face during boxing (it's a little too short for a ponytail). This is perfect for boxing, running, gym and everyday life. I definitely need more practice which is why I've worn this hairstyle every day in the last two weeks of January probably haha! I'm obsessed.
Tried on these beautiful Aquazurra boots which were on sale (70% off) but instead went home with another beautiful pair of boots. You'll probably see them soon! // Turtlenecks were my favourite clothing item this month, perfect for snuggling up and keeping warm. I love it in combination with a few medallion necklaces!
These are some of my favourite flowers. I think they're called Buttercups (Ranunculus) and they come in all kinds of colours, but this dark purple/red is just gorgeous! // Found a cheap peanut butter at Jumbo which only contains peanuts and a bit of salt (no palm oil, always check the ingredients!)
I visited the BRAFA Art Fair in Brussels with my siblings on the very last day. I do love art fairs and it was my first time at BRAFA but I much prefer TEFAF (in Maastricht, in March I think) and Frieze in London. I did love the flower installations by Mark Colle, I love his work! // there was a big section of Jan Fabre's works, including a series of fun marble brain-sculptures
I love Fontana's works. Not everyone's cup of tea but if I'd be a millionaire, I'd definitely have a few of these hanging in my house! // Cool work by Fred Eerdekens, who plays with light and shadows.
One last work from BRAFA which I liked as well! // I spotted this beautiful bouquet at Dries Van Noten's shop in Antwerp. Got the first spring-feelings now! Winter can be over now :)
I hope you had a fantastic start to the year as well!
