December in pictures

Hello 2016! In this first post of the new year I wanted to do a little recap of the previous month, like I do each month. 2015 was a really great year with a lot of new experiences, travel, family time and good food! Everything that makes me happy:) I'm so ready for 2016, even though I don't know yet what this year will bring. Either way, I hope it will be only positive things! 2016, I'm ready for ya

I didn't bring any souvenirs back from Stockholm but what I DID bring was cheese. Swedish cheese is tha bomb. // A little healthy lunch, I shared the recipe on my Instagram. I love cavolo nero!

We were treated to a gorgeous sunset on our way to France for the night. // Can anyone tell which emoji I'm representing here? Loved this outfit so much. It's a vintage Dior skirt borrowed from my mom with a tight longsleeve, kind of like Dior SS13.

When in France... I never eat croissants but I'll make an exception when I'm in France // This little Jack Russel was so cute and happy, it makes me want to get a puppy!

Hotel Le Tissu Radio 2 Bill Barberis

Straight from France to a hotel in Antwerp. I won a competition through Radio2. My mom heard about it and told me to send an email with my favourite breakfast recipe to Radio2, so I did and I won! I just sent in my winter granola recipe, so all I had to do was bring it with me to the morning show and talk about it a little bit!

Hotel Le Tissu Radio 2 Bill Barberis

We stayed at Hotel Le Tissu in Antwerp and had a 5 am wake-up call the next morning (uuuugh.. haha). In the end it was really cosy, my mom and I got a delicious breakfast and I talked for like 1 minute on the radio. The Belgian actor Bill Barberis was also there to chat along (shame on me but I've never seen any of his shows/movies). I was a little nervous but everyone was super nice and they all loved the granola. So cool to see the behind-the-scenes of a radio show!

I had the day off after that so I decided to walk around in Antwerp a bit! Sint-Jorispoort is probably one of my favourite streets in Antwerp :)

MoMu footprint Antwerp

I also went to see the Footprint exhibition at the MoMu (fashion museum). It was really well done! A must-see for all shoe junkies ;) It's on until February 14th

Dries van Noten windows december 2015

Dries Van Noten always has the most beautiful shop windows in Antwerp, so also the current one is amazing! It looks like a theater and there's even music outside! // Went to my favourite hipster coffee place: Normo. The flat white is super yum.

This sweatshirt is the story of my life // Time for boxing! I'm getting better and even wore a hear protector thing a few times so I can properly box with other people (including face) without getting a black eye ;) Btw how cool are these leggings, I got them in Berlin a year ago at Nike.

Off to London! It's always hard to say bye to these cuties. // My brother and I got the Eurostar from Brussels, kind of forgot how convenient it is. We were in a new Eurostar train which I don't like at all, the interior has green details and the lights are bright and white. I much prefer the 'old' version! Anyway I got hungry so ate my favourite Nakd bar with cashew :)

Daniel Galvin Kensington Abingdon Road

When I walk past these kinds of houses in London I always wish I lived there! // I finally finally finally got my hair done after a YEAR (!) In London, the best place for colouring is Daniel Galvin. Their new salon in Kensington is just gorgeous! Though my hair is naturally blonde, I do like to add some extra highlights but this time I waited a year so it was super dark. It was also way too long and dull, so I let the hairdresser cut half of it off. As you understand, I was a new person after 3 hours at the salon ;)

Liberty! This building pretty much represents London for me. So iconic and they have the most beautiful flower shop in front. // Every single street in London is so festive around Christmas, this was a little courtyard behind Covent Garden.

whole food piccadilly smoothies

Ohh Wholefoods, I've missed you. // Spaghetti squash is pretty impossible to find in Antwerp, but in London you can just buy it at Whole Foods. It's the coolest pumpkin!

I laughed a little when I put these two pics together, look-a-likes, no? On the left you can see the most delicious guacamole from Whole Foods // On the right, the epic Matcha soft serve with French Toast at Shackfuyu. The food here was pretty good and it's cosy to go with a group of friends because they have sharing dishes.

I have a thing for Porches and this one had pretty cool details // Daunt is my favourite bookstore in London. Their cookbook section pretty much had all the books on my wishlist!

Barbican Charles & Ray Eames

We visited the Charles & Ray Eames exhibition at the Barbican and it was the best exhibition we saw all weekend. Go and see it if you can, it's on until February 14th.

King's Road is so cosy to walk on this time of year. We walked all the way down to Bluebird and also visited the Saatchi gallery but there wasn't anything interesting there.

Neon signs all over London! // This was at Bluebird, where my friend spotted a cute winter coat. Different than usual!

Pork buns at Duck & Rice, a new-ish place in Soho. Unfortunately they ran out of duck and rice that night, say whaaat? A bit of a disappointment. // Ai Wei Wei's exhibition was open 24/7 on the last weekend. Though we didn't go inside, the RA still looked pretty cool around midnight!

Regent Street looking pretty! If you want to see more Christmas pics of London check this post // Reunited with one of my best London friends and it felt so good! Although I don't see my London friends very often, it's always SO nice to see them. Luckily there's Whatsapp to keep in touch :)

Brekky at Lantana, review coming soon! // Sunday at the British museum, such a cool place! We saw the Celts exhibition which was okay but nothing amazing. A lot of museum-hopping in one weekend!

Monday porridge brekky at 26Grains, so delicious!!! // I only want everything from kikki.K I brought home a sticker book and a 2016 daily notebook.

Visiting my old little London home, I miss my little street! // Chiltern Street is also a street I loved to walk though when I lived in Marylebone. Such a nice village-feeling in the centre of London.

Monocle Cafe London Chiltern street

Coffee at Monocle, kind of a hipster-y blogger-y it-coffee-place in London. The coffee is good so I'm not complaining!

Cosy Carnaby Street! Though the decorations are not my taste I do like the festiveness of it :) // We tried a few times to go to Bao but it was always closed, so sad! I definitely want to try it next time. Have any of you been yet?

Made some special flower arragements for Christmas! I love the combination of the fresh green and deep red, so beautiful! I'm not a fan of red roses so I love finding alternatives like these // Much needed coffee before work. I tried this place (Maurice) for the first time but think it's way overpriced so I won't be going back I think. Any tips for delicious and good value coffee in Antwerp?

Although it was above 10 degrees, a friend threw an apres-ski themed party. Everyone was sweating their butts off in their ski-clothes and hats hahah! But it was super fun anyway; parties at someone's house are so much better than in a club. // Because I had to work the next day, I decided to take the car & not drink. I've only had my license for a year and I didn't drive for 6 months (because Munich), this was a little challenge for me, but I made it!

Ah, I LOVE Gigi, she's so gorgeous! Of course I had to buy Vogue UK with her on the cover. I love how down to earth she is in interviews // I went to Brussels one night to attend a sing-a-long Christmas concert. Quite fun and a bit random hahah! I took this blurry pic when we drove past the Royal Palace.

Yess the sales have finally started! I kind of avoided the shops the last few months, so now I really feel like making a few good bargains. I fell in love with this suede skirt from Zara! Normally a colour I wouldn't wear but I think it suits the style really well. I think I'll wear this both during winter and summer. And it was a steal at €25! // These babies were not on sale unfortunately. Every time I see a Chanel Boy bag on someone (especially the smallest size) I really love it, but they are SO expensive and the quality doesn't feel as nice as CĂ©line or Givenchy (because the chain is so light I think)

On Christmas eve we ate mostly vegetarian food, all different kinds of food that my mom and I prepared. It just felt didn't feel right to eat turkey or lobster this year. But we did have some smoked salmon on toast. Apart from that it was all vegetarian! And I made my favourite dessert too // Check out my dog's belly, she got a Christmas meal as well ;)

Hugging the pets! Here's Puma and Nocho, who are also the two best friends! // Went for a run on Christmas day. In 2016 I definitely have to keep up the running. This time FOR REAL (after so many failed attempts!)

This is what the preparation of Christmas day dinner looked like. Okay I totally arranged this for the picture but I did use it all! I made the Green Christmas dinner of Green Kitchen Stories and it was SUPER tasty. My family loved it too! // A little Christmas gift from my mom. She definitely knows how to find the best gifts. I had a Moka already but it was really bad quality so now I have the real deal.

Blueberry nicecream for breakfast. I'll post the recipe soon! // Antwerp looking beautiful on a sunny day.

My last lunch of 2015 was sushi from Sushi Shop in Antwerp. I had a craving for sushi but I haven't found any GOOD sushi in Antwerp yet (tips please!). This box was just okay..// Ended the year with a super cosy night with some highschool friends at my best friend's house. We later went to another houseparty for the countdown and fireworks. The best way to enter 2016!
