Hello Sushi | Amsterdam

If there's one thing I miss about London (okay I'm just kidding there's millions of things I miss about London.. but that's not my point), it's sushiii. There I had Ohisama for take-away near home, Nobu for the special occasions, Sticks 'n Sushi for a girls night out and Itsu as necessary food for survival while writing my dissertation. You can get pretty good sushi everywhere in London, but it's a bit more challenging in Amsterdam. I really miss sushi, so when I walked past Hello Sushi in De Pijp, I knew I had to give it a go.

The sushi menu is small and simple. You can choose from different boxes, which all contain different amounts of sushi pieces. I chose for the pink box, along with spicy edamame. The menu also has hot skewers, salads, spring rolls and sides; enough choice! For take-away, these sushi boxes are the most convenient option though.

It takes about 10 minutes before your box is ready, so everything is freshly made which is so much better than sushi which has been lying in a fridge for ages so it's a bit cold and dry (yuk). This sushi is actually really tasty. Not as good as Ohisama for example, but definitely much better than Itsu, so it's a bit in between. Really good for take-away, if you're feeling lazy or just craving sushi :) and it's really affordable too!

Hello Sushi is located just next to the Albert Cuyp market and the Sarphati park. When the weather is nice you can also just get a sushi box to eat in the park, perfect picnic. I like it a lot! (find more info etc. here)
