25 random questions

I'm sorry for not blogging, but my dissertation deadline is in exactly 11 days so at the moment all I can think about is this deadline! After May 12th I promise I'll blog more. But right now I'll blog whenever I take a break and feel like blogging, but as I spend all day every day behind my laptop at the moment, my breaks usually consist of going out for a quick walk or going to the gym. I found this list of 25 random questions on the brand new Chapter Friday blog (it's awesome, you should check it out) so I decided to answer them too.

1. What is one of your biggest dreams?
I love the sea and I've always dreamt of having a little house right on the beach. It doesn't matter where in the world, as long as the sunsets are beautiful, there's a nice beach and I can swim in the sea. That would be pure luxury to me.

2. Name three things that are physically close to you.
Heart shaped post-its, a bottle of Evian and books + notes: I am in the library as I'm writing this.

3. What’s an ideal Sunday for you?
Wake up around 9-10, make a big breakfast or go out for brunch. Then either go for a walk in the sun in the garden/park - my ideal Sunday is a sunny one - and pick flowers, or go to Columbia Road Flower market to get some flowers.

4. Do you drive? If so have you crashed?
No and no. I will need to get to that this summer. (Driving, not crashing)

5. What time did you wake up this morning?
7 am, but I stayed in bed until 7.30. It's pretty miraculous for me to be waking up so early, because I'm really not a morning person. But I have my dissertation deadline coming up and I'll have plenty of time to sleep after that.

6. What’s one thing in your closet that you cannot live without?
A simple Victor & Rolf belt which I bought years ago. It's now well-loved, old and battered, but it's the perfect belt in my eyes. I will never part with that belt.

7. What was the last movie you saw?
I can't remember it because I don't watch movies very often. I watched the new Game of Thrones episode on Monday, does that count?

8. What does your last text message say?
It's a text from my friend saying that she bought almond butter, two spoons and that she's on her way to the library. We've been working here all day so a little almond butter break is much needed. (we're addicted!)

9. Something physical that stands out?
I guess other people would be able to answer this question better. But I'd say my hair, because it's blonde so that might be one of the things that stands out when someone first sees me.

10. Have you ever been to a different country?
Yes I've been to many different countries because I have been lucky to travel a lot with my family, in Europe and outside of Europe. I can't remember every trip but it has been a huge part of my education. Now that we're older it's difficult to organise family trips, but our most recent trip to Japan is maybe the best one so far. I love traveling!

11. Do you like sushi?
I love sushi! California roll used to be my favourite but lately I've been loving black cod rolls and the crispy ebi rolls from Sticks & Sushi are to die for.

12. What’s a song you secretly love to blast and belt out when you’re alone?
Are you gonna be my girl by Jet

13. Have you ever taken medication to help you fall asleep faster?
I have this allergy medication which makes you incredibly tired, so a good deep sleep is guaranteed. I think I took it once just so I could sleep well.

14. How many siblings do you have?
Two, a brother and a sister. I'm so lucky to have them, I couldn't imagine my life without siblings. We share so many memories, our whole childhood, inside jokes; you just can't compare a sibling relationship to anything else.

15. How would you describe your style?
Pretty casual. I rarely get very dressed up, only for certain events or parties. I'm in a phase where I prefer comfort and live in my Nikes/boots, skinny jeans and blazer/leather jacket. But I do also love wearing high heels and a beautiful dress, it just depends on the occasion. I wear all-black outfits 70% of the time.

16. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
21 on the 17th of August.

17. Do you wear contacts or glasses?
Contacts. I can see alright without them but I hate it when I forget to wear them, which happened 3 times (!) the last two weeks.

18. Do you color your hair?
I'm naturally blonde, but I do get highlights as my natural colour can look a bit 'dull'. But it's quite damaging so I only do it twice or three times a year.

19. Tell me something you are planning to do today.
Write my dissertation all day and go to the gym.

20. What’s the drink you always order at Starbucks?
Starbucks isn't my first choice of coffee shop, but when I go, I'll probably order a chai latte. But I think Starbucks is overpriced and you can get much better coffee/drinks elsewhere, especially in London.

21. What did you want to be when you were little?
Is it bad that I can't remember? I think it might have been something like a veterinarian?

22. What’s a beauty rule you preach, but never actually practice?
Washing my make-up brushes once a week. I usually end up doing it once every two weeks...

23. Have you ever had an all-nighter?
On my high school graduation trip to Crete we went out every single night. One night it got pretty late so we watched the sunrise, and my best friend and went back to our room, changed into our bikinis and went straight back to the pool to start tanning. No matter how late we were out, we were very consistent with our tanning schedule starting at 9 am every day, haha!

24. Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke?
I actually don't remember ever having Pepsi, but I like to think I would be able to taste the difference.

25. What quote/phrase do you live your life by?
I don't really have a 'life quote' and never really had one. But the quote that's been in my head lately is "Just do it". Maybe a bit cliché, but it stops me from over-thinking, being lazy or procrastinating. Just do it

I hope you liked this more personal type of post :)
