Running/training update II

A little bit more than a month left and I'll be running the 10k at Nike's We Own The Night event. It seems to be even bigger compared to last year and some of my favourite bloggers are also participating in different cities. I went home to Belgium for 10 days and did much more running and exercise than I had planned to do. It was a good week :)

What my week looked like:
Friday: rest day
Saturday: run 10 kilometers
Sunday: strength training upper body - arms & abs
Monday: strength training - legs
Tuesday: run 6 kilometers
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: strength training upper body - abs & arms
Friday: run 10 kilometers
Saturday: run 5 kilometers
Sunday: tennis 1 hour

I did some sports nearly every day! I had so much energy, I think also because I was home. The 10 km run on Saturday was my first 10 km run ever, and I surprised myself by doing it in 49 min and 34 seconds! The second 10 km run seemed to be tougher but I wanted to improve my time so I did it in 49 min and 7 seconds. The 6km was probably my worst run, and the 5km was fun because I ran with a friend through the woods while chatting. Different than what I usually do!

I convinced my brother and sister to work out with me a few times so we did a one hour work-out routine 3 times. On my last day at home it was nice weather so we decided to rent a tennis court for an hour. I hadn't played since last summer but it went alright, and I can't wait to start playing a bit more!

After this very sporty week, I had the complete opposite this week. I couldn't find the motivation to do a good work-out or to go for a longer run, but that's alright. You can't always have a good week, and tomorrow a new week starts! I might try to go for another long run today if the weather/my mood allows it. I'm really starting to look forward to the We Own The Night run!
