Meridian Nut Bars

Protein helps your muscles recover and grow, so when you work out it's essential to eat protein. You can find protein in things like chicken/turkey, eggs, milk, yoghurt, fish, edamame and nuts. But sometimes you don't have time to make a protein-filled meal right after your work-out, so Meridian (yes, from the almond butter) just launched nut bars, the perfect post-work out snack. 
The bars are quite small and each contain around 7 grams of protein which is quite a lot. I've read that you need between 10 to 20 grams of protein after working out. The protein in these bars is natural as it comes straight from the almonds and peanuts. The bars are also suitable for vegans and are gluten, dairy, soya and wheat-free.

I was curious how these bars would compare to the Meridian nut butters, which I love. Though I'm obsessed with almond butter, I think I liked the peanut bar most. It tastes like pure peanuts and it's not too sweet. I took these to the gym because they are perfect for refueling straight working out (or any type of exercise).
