Running/training update I

I thought it would be fun to do a little update on how I'm preparing for the We Own the Night run. Right now I'm doing it with four other friends and I hope more will sign up for the run! I have no idea what it will be like, will I even be able to run at my normal pace with so many other people around? I guess I'll find out on the day itself, so for now I'll just have to train.
To start on a "sad" note, I have lost my brand new amazing Nocs earphones, they must have fallen out of my pocket. I know it's a bit ridiculous but I felt 'down' for a whole day. That means that right now I'm back to using my iPhone earphones which hurt my ears and have bad sound quality. It probably won't be long before I place another order on Nocs because I need them for running and training.

I still go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week, training either my upper body or my legs (leg days are my favourite!). As I want to focus more on my legs I've started to use heavier weights for squatting, lunging, leg press, etc. I really like strength training and start to notice more and more change, which motivates me!

In terms of running, I either run outside or on the treadmill in the gym. I sometimes use the Nike app indoors but mostly use it for outdoor runs. This week and next week I'll try to do longer distances, maybe 10 kilometers, but I actually prefer shorter runs because I like to improve my time every time. I also ordered new Nikes because the ones I have are more for training, not running. They arrived in Belgium so I can't wait to try them on.

On the left you can see some of my more recent runs. Two weeks ago I ran in Regent's park and managed to run all the way up to Primrose Hill as you can see! I didn't look my my phone the whole time so I was surprised that my pace was pretty good, despite having paused a few times.

I hope you liked reading this kind of update, I'll do another one in a few weeks but let me know if you have any questions! (you can also email me)
