Ohisama Sushi Marylebone | London

A few weeks ago, on a Friday night right after submitting a big assignment, I felt like having a relaxed night in with sushi and a good movie. I had seen that a new sushi place had just opened in my neighborhood called Ohisama, so I decided to give it a try. Good take-away sushi is kind of hard to find in London so I'm really happy to have discovered this place.

I ordered black cod rolls (my new favourite) and California rolls. It took about 10 minutes for the chefs to prepare it. Fresh sushi is the best! The rolls were quite small, (I don't like those huge chunky ones) really tasty and fresh. I really liked the black cod roll, so good! I wish I would have ordered a bit more, but thankfully I also got some dessert.

Sushi in bed while watching a movie was a real treat after my deadline!

Yukimi daifuku - mochi ice cream wrapped in sticky rice dough - is my favourite type of ice cream. It's SO hard to find in outside of Japan so I was really surprised and happy that Ohisama had it. I got a vanilla one but they have so many other flavours: mango, raspberry, hazelnut, green tea, vanilla and some others. And look how cute they wrapped it, a tiny container in a bigger container filled with ice. By the time I had finished the sushi, the ice cream was perfectly soft (you shouldn't eat yukimi daifuku straight from the freezer)

I will definitely go back to Ohisama to try more! It's affordable (all take-away orders are -10%), the menu is huge and the service is friendly. I will definitely go back to try the black cod with miso! You can find Ohisama at 39A Paddington Street in Marylebone, just a few minutes walking from Baker Street station. They have no website yet but here's the menu: (click for to enlarge)
