Thai Metro Charlotte Street | London

This is a restaurant I’ve been to numerous times, but still haven’t told you about. How could I? It’s one of my favourite places for a super easygoing and very cheap lunch or dinner. Thai Metro is located on Charlotte Street (nearly opposite another favourite: Roka – read my review) and serves classic Thai food as we know it in Europe: curries, noodles, spring rolls...

I recently went again and ordered what I always have as a main. But I’m getting ahead of myself, we first had starters! Spring rolls and chicken drumsticks.

Then I had my favourite: chicken Pad Thai. An enormous plate of noodles, chicken and some vegetables. Tastes so good every time; I don’t think I could get bored of it! The food is always ready in no-time, no need to wait for waiting. It might not look like much but trust me this is tasty!

The lunch menu (12-5, Monday to Friday) is really great value. One course for £5.80 or two courses for £7.80 if I’m correct. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is that the tables in the restaurant are very close together, which once resulted in a couple listening to the conversation my friend and I were having. Either way, don’t expect a fancy restaurant, just some simple and delicious food.

If you go with one or two friends there shouldn’t be a need to make a reservation. If you don’t get a table there are plenty of restaurants in Charlotte Street anyway. Thai Metro also does take-away, which I would definitely do if it would be a little closer to where I live. Thai Metro is kind of a little hidden gem!
