Food diary IV

It's been way too long since I did a food diary! During the holidays, I eat much more interesting things than my home-cooked London meals. It's summer after all :) so here's my diary of my summer so far. Pictures were taken at home, in Venice, Switzerland and in Knokke.

First up is a home-made fruit salad with watermelon, cantaloupe, peach, red berries and mint. I love fruit salads, even though they require a bit of peeling and chopping.
Zucchini fritters (recipe) with lots of herbs and spicy yoghurt sauce.

In Venice, it's a tradition of ours to get a pizza slice from one of the pizza vendors. This time however we ordered two huge pizzas and took them to a quiet little place by the water. It was definitely way too much for the 3 of us!

Refreshing ice cream and granita on a hot day in Venice.

I went to a wedding in Switzerland where thy had the best wedding cake I've ever seen! Light raspberry cream topped with hundreds (thousands?) of fresh raspberries.

Just look at that... each raspberry is perfect

Delicious Greek salad at the Eden Roc Hotel in Ascona.

Incredible fruit platter at the wedding. Can I have this for breakfast every day please?

Picnic on the boat. All kinds of meat, cheeses, fresh burrata with tomatoes, a cantaloupe and lots of fresh Swiss bread.

My starter at La Marina in Ascona. Caprese salad with rocket and pesto.

The best ice cream in Belgium? I think everyone agrees that you'll find it at Glacier de La Poste in Knokke (at the seaside) or as the Belgians say 'het Postje'. Always incredibly busy, but you get the best ice cream and the biggest scoops! You can have it any way you like, on a cone, in a pot, between two cookies as a sandwich, in a milkshake (choose any flavour) or in a container to take home.

My favourite flavours are speculoos with big speculoos cookie chunks (you must try it!) and yoghurt icecream with frozen berries.

I hope you enjoyed my food diary!
